We recently went to Hawaii to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. It was the first time either of us had been to Hawaii and we both loved it. It is gorgeous out there. I want to go back again, and never come home…

Disney likes to say vacations at their parks are magical, or something like that. Usually the lines would make me disagree to some degree. But, with Kaycee and her secrets to fast passes, baby swap (worth renting a baby if you don’t have one of your own), and alternate wheelchair entrances (not as easy to fake…), Disney was truly magical this time. And I think Kaycee has completely ruined me for future trips where I will have to wait in line with the other lowly commoners.

We’ve gone many many times to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, this was our first trip to the Tampa one. The park itself was pretty nice, though weather and maintenance issues caused us to not even get to ride 3 of the roller coasters, which was frustrating. I did enjoy how much more wildlife was featured there compared to the Williamsburg park. Another downfall of the Tampa park is it’s smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood around USF, so it doesn’t have that getaway vacation spot feeling of Williamsburg. I think for future trips, we’ll stay in the Orlando area for that vacation-y feeling and just take day trips to the park in Tampa.

The weather was gorgeous for the Festival, but there were just not very many artist booths and shoppers! It picked up a bit in the afternoon, but the day seemed to kind of drag on and on…

Our tree passed away today, victim of 50mph wind gusts.

The weather was beautiful this weekend, perfect for the Crafters Flea Market. Still a small show, but a nice change from the last one. Unfortunately, I received some bad news today. I won’t be at Cary’s Lazy Daze this August. Very disappointing. Hopefully, the Festival of the Eno will be a good enough show to make up for it.

So I had my first show of 2007 this weekend. It was a lovely 80 degrees earlier in the week, wouldn’t that have been nice? But nooo, the temp dropped on Friday and stayed cold all weekend. 40 degrees, 32 with the wind chill. I think I’m going to just skip any shows on days that are colder than 50 degrees from now on. I even lost money since there were very few shoppers.

So, we decided to take Friday off work to go skiing in Virginia. It was a long long day. We had to get up at 3am to catch the bus at 4 am, and didn’t get back home til almost 10pm. It’s too bad we don’t work at SAS, we could have saved the early drive to Raleigh and instead caught the bus just down the road from where we live. It was worth getting up so early to avoid having to drive ourselves. I slept most of the way up and back. The snow was all fake when we got there, and they had very few trails open, but we hadn’t been skiing in 3 years so we still had fun! We spent most of the day on the beginner trail since the only other trail open was an intermediate that you had to hills to while carrying your skis. Not enough people were on it to break up the chunks of ice they call snow.

Pics up of New Years Eve Eve at Benthia’s and New Years Eve at Terri & Tim’s. New Years Eve Eve was much fun, lots of good food and hilarious singing to two different karaoke games. New Years Eve itself was a bit more tame than I remember, but fun to see friends we haven’t seen in a while.
